This week on TV10, we're taking you along on the “K-9 Express” to connect pets in animal shelters across the country with their forever homes. Check out the home page of www.bluespetpage.com to view the entire stories and find out more about how this fun and easy program works.
There are many outstanding organizations you can get involved with, and one of the best is called “On the Road Again” which you can check out at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OnTheRoadAgain. It's a national organization of volunteers who coordinate, moderate, and drive transports for dogs and cats (and an occasional bunny), who need to get from a shelter to a rescue/foster home/adopter.
All members are screened. All receiving rescues are verified as legit.
All animals are spayed/neutered before transport (except in special circumstances) and all travel with health certificates.
Anyone can join, to offer to drive a leg of a transport. It's a lot of fun and you get to meet other animal lovers from all over the country!
Another terrific transport group is Truck-n-Paws, http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/Truck-N-Paws). Check out Yahoo to find more transport organizations you might like to get involved with.
