Macon Road Robbery Investigation

LAFAYETTE POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE

On April 12, 2011, at approximately 5:30 pm, Lafayette Police Responded to the 200 block of Macon Road regarding an armed robbery.  The victim advised responding officers that he had just exited a store and was smoking on the side of the building, when a black male approached him.  The suspect produced a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash out of the victims pocket and fled the area on foot.  The victim was not injured during the incident.

 The suspect is described as a black male, 6'00″ tall, 170 pounds, wearing a blue and white checkered shirt with black pants.  Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
