Adopt A Retired Racing Greyhound

SOME THOROUGHBRED RACERS WHO HAVE RETIRED FROM THE SPORT ARE HOPING YOU'LL GIVE THEM A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE.

UNFORTUNATELY, MANY RETIRED RACING GREYHOUNDS DON'T HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE WHEN THEIR RACING DAYS END.

TWO OF THE LUCKY ONES ARE RIPLEY AND KIOWA, ADOPTED BY BOB AND ARLA PILLON OF LAFAYETTE.

THE PILLONS SAY THESE GRACEFUL, AFFECTIONATE GENTLE GIANTS MAKE THE PERFECT PETS.

BOB: “in the adoption process, you fill in the application and you have a home visit, somebody comes to your home and checks your lifestyle and your type of home to make sure that we get the right dog to fit your family.”

ARLA: “you don't need a big yard, they are just as happy to lay around and rest, take them for a walk a couple of times a day and to the dog park periodically, they are just the most wonderful dogs in the world, they're so good and so well behaved and they get along with everybody!”

THE PILLONS WILL JOIN OTHER LOCAL GREYHOUND OWNERS IN HOSTING A MEET AND GREET NEXT MONTH AT THE LAFAYETTE PETCO.
