Police Investigate Morning Shooting

On January 10, 2012, at approximately 9:20 am, Lafayette Police responded to a shooting in the 300 block of 14th Street. According to the male victim, he had walked outside of the neighborhood grocery store to place a phone call, when an older model white Cadillac stopped on the roadway in front of his location. The victim was holding his three month old son at the time. The driver of the vehicle pulled out a handgun and began firing multiple rounds in the direction of the victims. The victims fled into the store and the suspect sped away from the scene. The victims were not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male operating an older model white Cadillac. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS
