Safer RR Crossings

A new report shows that collisions at rail road crossings are down here in Louisiana. Not only did the total number fall by ten from 2010 to 2011 from 106 to 96, according to officials with Operation Lifesaver the number of fatal collisions decreased to single digits with only nine people killed last year. National trends show the same data the Federal Railroad Administration reports that nationally incidents at public and private crossings fell from 9,461 in 1981 to 1,956 in 2011.
