Four Lafayette Individuals Charged With Terrorism

Friday the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's officials announced they have charged four individuals with terrorism. The charges are related to the May 18th shooting death of 43 year old Ray Ryan, in the 200 block of Marigny circle. Eric Johnson, Phillip Deen, Devin Johnson, and Rebecca Seraile were allegedly involved in a shooting at an apartment complex on the night of the murder. The sheriff's officers believe it was during this incident, that a stray bullet struck and killed Ryan. The terrorism charge comes from a state stature that includes acts of intentional aggravated damage to property, or in this case the actual shooting of the apartment complex. While the investigation is still ongoing, there is a glimmer of hope for residents of Marigny Circle, who want to see this type of violence come to an end. Lavergne says these are just some of the efforts the Sheriff's Office is making to stop crimes from happening in this area.
