The state says parents are free to pull their kids from three Lafayette Parish Schools. That's because the schools are “academically unacceptable”.
A preliminary report finds that Northside Highs School, JW Faulk Elementary and Alice Boucher Elementary aren't making the grade. And a new option lets students enroll elsewhere in the district.
The minimum acceptable school performance score is 75. North Side's SPS narrowly misses that at 74.4.
Scores for Alice Boucher and JW Faulk both figure in the upper 60s.
Again, these are preliminary scores; parents don't have to transfer their students if they don't want to.
