Patterson Couple Arrested for Hydroponically Grown Marijuana

Agents with the St. Mary Parish narcotics division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by Floyd Malveaux Jr. of Patterson, La.   During the course of the investigation agents located marijuana in the vehicle which led to the execution of a search warrant at Malveaux's residence. Agents located hydroponically grown marijuana with an approximate street value of $17,050 and cocaine with an approximate street value of $5,000, hashish, and items of drug paraphernalia in the apartment. Agents also seized $5,325 in cash and two vehicles are pending forfeiture.

Michelle Singleton of Patterson, was also arrested at the residence. Both Malveaux and Singleton were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration.

Floyd Malveaux, Jr., 31, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of hashish with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS, keeping a disorderly place, and resisting an officer by giving false information.

Michelle Singleton, 28, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of hashish with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS, keeping a disorderly place, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

No bond has been set at the time of the press release.
