JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – A federal appeals court panel will hold three days of hearings beginning Nov. 5 at the University of Mississippi. The judges also will spend time with law school students and faculty. The three-judge panel from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans has 12 cases scheduled for argument Monday through Wednesday at the Law Center on campus in Oxford. Since the mid-1980s, the 5th Circuit has taken its hearings on the road to law schools throughout its three-state circuit of Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas. A 5th Circuit panel last visited Ole Miss in 2008. A panel heard cases at the Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson in 2010. Members of the panel will be announced about a week before the hearings.
