NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Louisiana law-enforcement officials will gather in New Orleans this month for two days of training on investigating and prosecuting human trafficking.
Attorney General James “Buddy” Caldwell's office is hosting the event, which runs from Nov. 15-16 at the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center.
Caldwell's office says Louisiana has one of the strongest state laws against human trafficking, with provisions that a victim's age or consent isn't a defense against the crime.
