One of St. Mary Parish's most wanted suspects turned himself in to authorities.
On December 2, at 9:56 am, 28 year old Brianell Sharard Wilson of Amelia, turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of illegal carrying of a weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor. Wilson turned himself in after learning of the warrant for his arrest. His bond is set at $25,000.
Wilson was featured in The Daily Review newspaper's Most Wanted series in the Friday, November 30, 2012 edition. The SMPSO received numerous tips on several of the suspects being sought, including Wilson. St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert says these types of partnerships between the community and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office make it difficult for suspects to evade authorities. Community policing and public awareness is a key component to ensuring public safety in St. Mary Parish.
