Alcohol Tax Could Benefit Veterans

A lawmaker from Many has pre-filed legislation that would dedicate 10% of the state's excise tax levied on drinks that are low in alcohol content like beer, to the Louisiana Wounded Warrior Fund.

Representative Frank Howard, says the fund generates over 35 million dollars a year and he's asking that 10% of it go towards the hospitalization and rehabilitation of Louisiana vets who've been wounded.

He says he realizes state money is tight right now, but this is a very worthy cause. Howard says this money would go straight to vets from Louisiana who have suffered while serving our country.
