New Iberia Armed Robbery

On March 25, 2013 at approximately 9:00 p.m. Deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office responded to 618 W. Admiral Doyle in New Iberia in reference to an armed robbery.  Deputies arrived on scene an learned that two black males both wearing black hooded sweat shirts  robbed the business of Family Dollar.  According to the witnesses both suspects were armed with firearms.  The store clerk was struck on the head by one of the suspects who then fled from the business on foot in the direction of W. Admiral Doyle.  The clerk did require medical treatment and is currently being treated by Acadian Ambulance personnel.  Deputies are currently searching for the suspects.   Deputies are also asking if anyone has information involving the incident to contact the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office at 337-369-3711.
