Acadia Parish Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the discovery of a body.
A young boy riding a four-wheeler in rural Acadia Parish found the badly decomposed body at an oil well site. The sheriff's office said they were notified about the body shortly after six o'clock Thursday night.
Investigators said the Acadia Parish Coroner's office have confirmed that the body was that of a male whose age and race is still unknown at this time. The body was to be sent to the Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office to determine the cause of death and other information.
The Acadia Parish Sheriff office is treating the case as a homicide.

Acadia Parish Sheriff's deputies are investigating the discovery of a body Thursday night.
The body was found outside of Rayne at Hawks Road in Roberts Cove. The body was found at an entrance into an oil well site. Acadia Parish Sheriff's officials say a 13-year-old found the body while riding his four wheeler.
Upon arrival investigators located and confirmed that what the boy found was a decomposed body of a man – unknown race or age or cause of death. According to the Acadia Parish Coroners Office, the body may have been there less than a week.
“At this time details are sketch. We will be treating this scene as a homicide. The body will be taken to Lake Charles for an autopsy to discover the cause of death.” said Maxine Trahan with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office.
