LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) – State police say a 21-year-old Moss Bluff man is facing a host of charges after fighting with troopers.
Sgt. James Anderson says Michael Paul Gaudin II was booked with obstructing a public passage, resisting an officer, felony battery on a police officer, misdemeanor battery on a police officer and several other charges.
Anderson says shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday troopers received a call about a pedestrian jumping in and out of traffic on U.S. 171 near La. 3059.
He says two troopers encountered the Gaudin near the middle of the highway.
During a search of Gaudin, Anderson says Gaudin struck one officer in the face. He was then restrained with a stun gun.
Anderson says 1 of the troopers suffered torn ligaments in his leg and a possible dislocated ankle.
