Fourth of July celebrations across Acadiana

The Fourth of July holiday comes with a lot of firework displays. Here are some of the best ways to keep you and your family safe from the flames.

Lafayette: Red, White & BOOM!

Grammy Winner Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra will perform in downtown Lafayette at Parc International stage at 7:30 p.m.

Interactive Children's Music in Parc Sans Souci at 5:15 p.m.

Grammy nominee Corey Ledet & His Zydeco Band at 5:00 p.m.. at the Freedom Fest! Stage and Lafayette's Bayou Boys on the Freedom Fest! Stage at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person. Gates open at 5 p.m.

Sugar Mill Pond will celebrate the 4th of July with events starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Youngsville. The event is free and includes face painting, pony rides, live music and hot-air balloon rides.

A fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m. For more information click here


Tonight the Vermilion Health Care and Rehabilitation Center will hold it's annual 4th of July celebration.

The celebration will include train rides for kids, a watermelon eating contest, balloon races, and of course, fireworks. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and last until 9:30 p.m. at 14008 Cheneau Road.


Erath will celebrate Independence Day with 67th Annual Erath 4th of July Celebration. It includes the 13th Annual Fun Run – 5 K Run and 1 Mile Walk which begins at 7:30 a.m.

Other activities include carnival rides,parades,fais-do-do, live music from Louisiana Red and Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns and ends with a fireworks display.
