NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, a Republican turned Democrat, is giving the keynote address this weekend for the Louisiana Democratic Party's annual fundraiser.
The 2013 Jefferson-Jackson Dinner will be held on Saturday night in New Orleans.
A slew of Louisiana's Democratic elected officials are expected to attend, including U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu and U.S. Rep. Cedric Richmond.
Crist is considered a possible candidate to run for his old job in Florida next year, but he hasn't yet officially joined the race.
He was a Republican when elected governor, a job he held from 2007 to 2011. In 2010, he ran as an independent in a three-way U.S. Senate race won by Republican Marco Rubio. Crist became a Democrat in 2012.
