Habitat for Humanity is taking on one of their biggest projects ever, the construction of an entire subdivision.
That new neighborhood will be located in the Mccomb-Veasey area off of Pinhook Avenue across from South Magnolia Street. The undeveloped land will consist of 14 homes, lined down a one way street. Each home will be different and designed by UL-Lafayette architecture students.
According to Melinda Taylor, executive director for Habitat, said the group of students from UL Lafayette will be working on houses that another group of students planned. So this is all unfolding and the partnership has been a tremendous injection of energy and creativity to the work they have done at habitat. Construction is set to being next Spring.
