JENNINGS, La. (AP) – A 54-year-old Welsh man that collapsed in the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail has died.
The sheriff's office tells the American Press Lou Allen Griffin died at 6 a.m. Thursday at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
Griffin collapsed at around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Griffin was in jail on charges of criminal damage to property and aggravated simple arson. He was housed in the Welsh City Jail for four months prior to being transferred to the parish jail 21 days ago.
The Calcasieu Coroner's Office is scheduled to conduct an autopsy.
