Starting in November parts of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be under construction, all part of its master plan.
University officials announced the parking lot off of Lewis Street across from Parker Hall will be home to a six story, 1,150 space parking tower. It will include pre-paid parking spots along with metered spots. But that's not the only project.
The university is also adding 5,900 seats to the stadium at Cajun Field, along with new rest rooms and locker rooms. Bill Crist, facilities director at UL Lafayette says the projects, which will be completed using no state monies, will be funded through several sources, including the sale of bonds, self-assessed student fees and auxiliary revenue.
The multi-million dollar projects should be completed by next Fall.
