Unrestrained driver dies in Acadia Parish crash

CROWLEY, La. (AP) – State police are investigating a single vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 90 in Acadia Parish that claimed the life of a 37-year-old Mermentau man.

Trooper Stephen Hammons says Christopher Legros was eastbound on Highway 90 west of Crowley when his car left the road and struck a tree Wednesday night.

Hammons say Legros was not restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in his vehicle, 19-year-old Mariah Davis of Jennings, was taken to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries.
