Cracklin Festival set for November in Port Barre

The 28th annual Port Barre Cracklin Festival will be held the second weekend in November.

The festival showcases the ritual of making cracklins – a traditional Louisiana food that has made headlines on such cooking reality shows such as Top Chef.

There will be food, Cajun, zydeco and swamp pop music, carnival rides, arts and crafts, and a beauty pageant.

The parade rolls through on Saturday morning. The festival will run from November 7-10.


Thursday, Nov 7th

5:00pm -10:00pm – Family Night – Buy a bracelet and ride the fair rides for one price all night.

Friday, Nov 8th

5:00pm – Festival opens 7:30pm-9:30pm Geno Delafose 10:00pm-close Chris Ardoin

Saturday, Nov 9th

10 am – Parade down Saizan St. and Festival Opens

12 pm-2 pm Lil Kenny & The Heartbreakers

2:30pm-4:30pm Kevin Naquin

5 pm-7 pm Courtableau with Elvis Barker

7:30 pm-9:30pm One Trick Pony

10 pm- close Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns

Sunday, Nov 10th 1

10 am – Festival Opens

12 pm-3 pm Pine Leaf Boys

4 pm- close John Connley

Veterans Park. 504 Saizan Avenue, Port Barre

Admission: $5 per person per day, 10 years and under free
