On December 22, officers of the Scott Police Department were dispatched to a report of someone being shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim bleeding, having been shot three times. The victim was able to provide officers with a description of the suspects as well as the vehicle. The vehicle, with its occupants, was located a short time later.
Located inside the vehicle were three firearms, one of which had been reported as stolen. The shooter, Troy Filar Jr., was placed under arrest and booked in to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
The victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment and was determined to not have sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.
The City of Scott Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
