For Dustin and Kristen Delahoussaye the birth of their first born is beyond special. Kristen was diagnosed with infertility making the effort to become pregnant a process.
One that led the couple to try in vitro fertilization (IVF). The birth of Isabelle is their third in vitro attempt. “It's a lot of work a lot of injections. We had two previous losses so this is truly our miracle,” says Kristen
A miracle Dustin, Isabelle's father, is proud to have. Isabelle was born at 1:15 a.m. on New Year's Day at Women's and Children's Hospital in Lafayette. Isabelle weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces. “All I want for her is just to be happy; and for her to not forget about mom and dad when she gets older,” says Dustin.
Also, this family has another surprise to share. Kristen was born in December on Christmas Day. Kristen was keeping her fingers crossed for a December birth.
“We were actually due on January 3rd. We were hoping for a December baby. We came in on December 31st, but she decided that 2014 was way better than 2013,” adds Kristen.
Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) welcomed its first baby of 2014 at 3:39 a.m. The baby girl weighed 4 pounds, 11 ounces.
