Local Band Hit By Thieves

Thieves struck a Lafayette based band while they were
playing in Chicago, stealing half of their equipment.  The incident took place sometime Wednesday
during the early morning hours. When members of the band 'Brass Bed' woke, they
saw glass surrounding their van. When they got a closer look they noticed
thousands of dollars' worth of guitars and other musical equipment was missing.
The band is now left buying or borrowing equipment for their other shows.
According to band member Christiaan Mader, since news broke about the incident
people from Lafayette and all around Acadiana have stepped up, sending their
support both financial and moral. Mader says it's easy to get bogged down when
thinking there is someone out there with your things but it's also eye-opening
to see how many more people care for you when something so terrible
happens.  No arrests have been made.

 If you'd like to
help the band, they have set up a pay pal account. Once on the paypal site you
can donate at bed.brass@gmail.com
