Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the Department of Children and Family Services have partnered for the “I AM” program.
This project which stands for, increasing adoptive measures, is aimed at increasing awareness for the need of adoptive and foster families.
The program started last year through a grant from the state.
According to the chairperson of the program, there is a dire need for families since all children's shelters in the Acadiana area have closed.
Organizers will be hosting an orientation dinner this Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and will be presenting more information on the program.
