How to revitalize plants after cold weather

The below freezing temperatures are gone for now, so what can you do to revitalize your fragile plants and survive the current season?

Even if they're wilted or turning brown, they may not be dead. And unless the plant is mushy, avoid cutting until after the last winter freeze since the dead matter also helps insulate and although it may be tempting to re-pot or over fertilize what looks like a struggling plant, Gerald Roberts at LSU Ag Center says leave it alone.

“The number one thing to remember the take home message is with a lot of these plants that were damaged it appears that they may be dead but we really don't know. Let mother nature tell us until we get into the growing season, the warm season and whatever is dead will not come back. Things that appear to be dead may be damaged.”
