According to Saint Landry Parish president, Bill Fontenot, Wednesday's incident is only one of many involving mistreated horses.
He says; “for a number of years now more and more horses have been needed to be rescued from being abandoned or abused. We see more and more of that in our parish. To whatever extremes we need to go to as a parish government, working with the judicial system were going to find some way to eliminate to this abuse.”
