A 125 acre development in Upper Lafayette is slowly taking shape.
Couret Farms, a traditional neighborhood development off of Pont des Mouton road, will be similar to River Ranch and Sugar Mill pond. The multimillion dollar project will feature five hundred single family homes, almost two hundred apartments and a slew of businesses.
In fact, the commercial phase of this project just broke ground with some businesses set to open this fall.
According to Developer Robert Daigle, the first two tenants in the new commercial lifestyle center will be Romacelli restaurant and Anytime Fitness.Letters of intent to open from Subway and Zeus have also been filed. Daigle goes on to say that in all of his communities it's always good to have a mix of businesses but food and beverage are major drivers.
Couret Farms not only features commercial and residential development, but also a charter school, which will open this August. The entire development should be complete by 2020.
