The Thensted Center in Grand Coteau will host an evening of true stories featuring Dominick Cross, journalist for the Advertiser and Times of Acadiana, and Toby Rodriguez, an artist, chef, woodworker and father.
The event will be held April 17 at 7 p.m.
Rodriguez will read about the history of black pot cooking, and other reflections on Louisiana folklore.
The evening will also include an oral history presentation by a Grand Coteau native as part of the Grand Coteau Voices series.
Each month, there is an oral history presentation that may include stories of work, education, entertainment and relationships of Grand Coteau residents from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Feel free to bring your own poems, songs or stories for the open mic. Guests are also invited to bring snacks or drinks to share.
