The 2014 Student Arts Expo will be held Saturday, May 10 from 12 – 8 p.m.

This annual event is designed to increase public knowledge and appreciation of the arts with performances and visual arts exhibits representing nearly every school in the Lafayette Parish School District (LPSS) from students of pre-K – 12th grades.

The 2014 Student Arts Expo includes both performance and visual arts. Performances will be held at the Parc Sans Souci, Theatre 810, Carpe Diem and the AcA’s James Devin Moncus Theater. Performances include poetry readings, dance, theater and music performed by LPSS students. Visual arts exhibits are displayed at locations throughout downtown Lafayette at participating businesses.

There will also be a Chalk Walk from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in Parc Sans Souci. Student groups from Lafayette parish public schools will participate, and the public is invited to join in beginning at 12:30.

The Student Arts Expo is presented by Lafayette Parish School System, Cox and Acadiana Center for the Arts, with support from Downtown Lafayette and Lafayette Consolidated Government.

Special thanks to our new corporate sponsor, Cox. With their help, the Student Arts Expo now has an even bigger platform to showcase the incredible artistic talent we have in our students! The Acadiana Center for the Arts and Lafayette Parish School System are grateful to community partners like Cox who see the value of the arts in the schools.
