The Jeanerette Bicentennial Park and Museum will hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremonies as it celebrates its new presentation room.
The room was added to the museum’s Harry Peterson Museum Annex, almost doubling the building in size. The grand opening ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 at the museum located at 500 E. Main St. The public is invited to attend the celebration. Funding for the expansion of the museum annex building was received through the Louisiana’s Visitor Enterprise Fund.
Construction began in the summer and after completion, the museum placed and refurbished exhibits. The new presentation room will allow the museum the space needed to host presentations such as history talks and films, cooking demonstrations, traveling and local exhibits, storytelling, music performances and more.
“We are looking forward to the dedication of the new room that will be able to seat larger crowds,” said Andre Rosamond, museum board chairman.
“We invite everyone to attend the many history programs we host to learn more about our unique culture.” For more information on the museum or its programming, visit them online at JeaneretteMuseum.com; email them at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 337-276-4408.
The museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
