ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) – Higher education in Central Louisiana is seeing changes in leadership as two local schools begin searches for their next presidents.
The Louisiana College Board of Trustees and University of Louisiana System have launched searches for presidents at the private Baptist school in Pineville and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, respectively, by appointing committees to tackle the jobs.
The Town Talk reports Joe Aguillard remains Louisiana College president until May 31, and Executive Vice President Argile Smith will step into an interim role on June 1.
The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors on Wednesday announced appointments to the search committee tasked with finding a replacement for President Randall J. Webb, who announced on April 11 that he would retire later this year.
