St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz stated, “Cory Williams and Jasmine Rideau, both from Opelousas, were arrested on April 30 by our Narcotic Enforcement Team.”
Sheriff Guidroz said, “The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Narcotic Enforcement Team conducted several hours of surveillance in Royal Garden subdivision in Opelousas after we received a tip regarding possible drug activity occurring in the neighborhood. Agents were able to gather evidence leading to the arrest of both Williams and Rideau.”
“Agents were able to seize 2 ounces of marijuana, 5 grams of crystal meth, several bottles adderall, hydrocodone and zanax pills. The street value of these narcotics are worth approximately $3,000,” Guidroz added.
Cory Williams, 5228 Hwy 358, Opelousas, was charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS, possession of hydrocodone, possession of drug paraphernalia and flight from an officer.
Jasmine Rideau, 820 Leo St. Opelousas, was charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I CDS, possession of hydrocodone, possession of zanax and possession of adderall.
Both are being held at the St. Landry Parish Jail and are scheduled to appear in court on May 1, 2014.
