Degree Presented to Drowning Victim’s Family

A 21 year old Lafayette woman, whose death was ruled an accidental drowning last month was posthumously, awarded her college degree Friday. 
The family of Alexandria Shelton accepted her Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Grambling State University.

Shelton had a 3.5 grade point average and was a member of Grambling’s Earl Lester Cole Honors College. Her body was discovered in the early morning hours of April 13th, lying in a ditch in Girard Park.
