A local band wants to show their appreciation to all of those who helped them in their time of need. While in Chicago the Lafayette based band, Brass Bed, had their van broken into. Thieves stole over ten thousand dollars’ worth of musical equipment. On top of replacing the window, the band had to find other equipment to use in order to play out the rest of their tour.
That’s when they took to social media and Acadiana residents not only opened their hearts but their wallets. In the spirit of the support they received, the band is performing a free, all-ages show at the Blue Moon Saloon on May 23rd, 2014. It will benefit the Tipitina’s Youth Foundation, which is dedicated to helping children have access to music.
The band is also donating one of the Fender Guitars they received along with some other musical equipment, to the foundation. On top of all that, Blue Moon Saloon will donate a portion of bar sales to Tipitina’s. For more information head to their website at www.brassbedisbrassbed.tumblr.com
