A May 19th traffic stop has led to an array of charges against a Crowley man who is involved in the illegal drug trade.
According to Chief KP Gibson, officers with the Crowley Police Department stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Western Ave near West 7th St. During the stop, the passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot. During the foot pursuit, officers observed the suspect through a gun from his person. This firearm was recovered and the suspect was taken into custody. The firearm was discovered to have been stolen from a Crowley resident.
“During the search of the suspect, numerous narcotics were recovered along with currency” stated Chief Gibson.
Officers arrested Quinlan Moore, 24, of Crowley. Moore was charged with PWITD Marijuana (18.1 grams), PWITD Crack Cocaine (8 grams), Monies Derived from Drug Proceeds, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Illegal Carrying of a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Justice. Moore has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
“Our officers have been aggressive on the streets trying to remove not only illegal narcotics but firearms as well. We have taken 8 guns off the street in the past several weeks and will keep our stance on removing guns and narcotics off the streets of Crowley” stated Chief Gibson.
