Aggravated Battery fugitive captured

Lafayette City Marshal Deputies today arrested one Ronald Wayne Joseph, Jr. In the 500 block of Joan Street-Lafayette, Louisiana on warrants from the 15th Judicial District court in Lafayette for armed robbery and aggravated battery with a firearm.

On May 6, 2014, Paul Alex was robbed in his front yard by two unknown black male subjects. He stated that one of the males stayed in a gray Ford truck with temporary plates, and the suspect that got out and confronted him ordered him to “give it up”, and he gave the suspect his wallet and turned around to go into his residence and was shot in the back of his shoulder by the suspect. The suspect fled the scene in the gray ford struck. After the robbery and shooting a juvenile suspect was later apprehended still in the vehicle but one suspect managed to evade police after a foot pursuit which followed a vehicle pursuit.

Lafayette City Police Detectives developed Ronald Wayne Joseph Jr. As the suspect robber and shooter. On May 12, 2014 charges of armed robbery and aggravated battery were filed against Joseph and bond set at $400,000.00.

A Lafayette City Marshal Deputy saw Joseph in the 500 block of Joan today and executed the warrant. Joseph was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the warrant and a parole/probation hold was placed on him as well.

Joseph has a criminal record dating back to 2006 for possession and distribution of drugs; failure to appear for pre-trial; traffic offenses; simple burglary and a felon in possession of a firearm/carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon. His parole ends on December 18, 2015. He had a second degree felony drug charge on December 19, 2013 in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
