Duson Shotiing Suspects Arrested

On Tuesday June 3rd at approximately 9:00 pm Lafayette Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting in the 600 Block of Fifth Street in Duson. Upon arrival deputies discovered Paul Felix, a 26 year old male, had been shot in the upper leg. The initial investigation revealed that Donavan Henry, a 25 year old male, was the suspect in the shooting. Deputies quickly located Henry nearby on Fifth Street in Duson and took him into custody. Deputies recovered a .38 caliber revolver on his person believed to be used in the shooting; the weapon was also reported as stolen.  

After further investigation it was learned that both men had an altercation earlier that evening on Fifth Street where Felix shot at Henry with a handgun in which there were no reported injuries during the incident. The gun Henry used in the shooting, a .45 caliber handgun, was also recovered.

Donavan Henry was arrested and charged with 1 count of Attempted 2nd Murder, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Resisting Arrest. There is no bond at this time.

Paul Felix was treated and released from a local hospital and arrested for 1 count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. There is no bond at this time
