The last remaining suspect in a home invasion crime from May 15 is now in custody after being arrested on Wednesday in Iberia Parish.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Captain Megan Vizena said, “On Wednesday, June 11, 2014, members of the US Marshals Office, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Rose-Puckett, age 26, without incident.”
“Rose-Puckett’s arrest stems from a home invasion that occurred in St. Landry Parish on May 15, 2014.
Captain Vizena stated, “On May 15, we received a complaint regarding a home invasion on Billeaux Road in Cankton. The victim advised detectives that he was awakened by 2 males subjects armed with guns. The victim was beaten and restrained behind his back. The victim stated that he overheard the subjects planning to cut his throat and that’s when he was able to break loose and run for help.”
Also arrested in connection with the case are 26 year old Benneth Barras, 27 year old Reginald Francis, and 28 year old Shane Pomier, all of Carencro.
Rose-Puckett is being held at the St. Landry Parish Jail facing charges of home invasion, armed robbery, false imprisonment with a firearm, attempted first degree murder and criminal conspiracy. Her bond is set at $750,000.
Reginald K. Francis and Benneth Barras, both of Carencro, are charged with home invasion, armed robbery, false imprisonment, criminal conspiracy and attempted 1st degree murder. Both Francis and Barras are being held at the St. Landry Parish Jail with no bond.
Shane Pomier was charged with home invasion, armed robbery, false imprisonment with a deadly weapon and attempted first degree murder. He is currently being held at the St. Landry Parish Jail with a $500,000 bond.
