According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, along with the Sheriff’s K-9 division, made the following arrests for narcotics related offenses within the parish.

On 6-17-2014, Vermilion Sheriffs Office Narcotics agents were contacted by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office S.T.A.R. division, inquiring if the Narcotic Unit was familiar with a person by the name of Kevin Gondran (dob 06/25/71) of Vermilion Parish.

Agents affirmed that the person in question was a suspect that they dealt with in the past for crystal methamphetamine arrests. Lafayette Sheriff’s deputies advised that they had conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation just inside of Lafayette Parish on this suspect, and were able to obtain crystal methamphetamine as a result of the stop.

Agents from both departments shared information, and a search warrant was obtained for Gondran’s residence, due to the possibility of more of the illicit drug being stored there. Upon execution of the warrant, agents located over an ounce of crystal methamphetamine, as well as assorted paraphernalia and a firearm.

Warrants were obtained for Gondran for Possession with intent to distribute schedule II ,(methamphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
