In appreciation for those who serve and sacrifice for our freedoms, Schilling Distributing and Budweiser will provide an Acadiana family with a “Folds of Honor” scholarship during a special presentation on Friday, July 4, 2014. Schilling Distributing and Budweiser have partnered with the Folds of Honor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Owasso, OK, with a mission to provide educational scholarships and other assistance to the children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.
Families that qualify are urged to apply online at www.foldsofhonor.org no later than Friday, June 27, 2014.
“It’s an honor to provide an Acadiana family with the educational opportunities they deserve, while honoring the sacrifice their family has made,” said Buddy Schilling, General Manage, Schilling Distributing Company.
Since its inception in 2007, Owasso-based Folds of Honor has awarded nearly 5,500 educational scholarships to meet an ongoing need in our country. As of January 2014, more than 1.4 million dependents have been affected by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Of these, 85 percent do not qualify for federal scholarship assistance.
