Death of woman in antique store ruled natural

A body was found Thursday morning inside of antique store A Gift Horse on Jefferson Street.

According to Corporal Paul Mouton, the owner said he had not been inside the building for “several days,” and when he walked in, he discovered the body.

Clarence Kelly, a 14-year employee of the store, said the person found was a homeless woman who the owner had known for years. Kelly said the woman would help out around the store and was allowed to use the store’s computer.

The death has been ruled natural causes.
