The initial call regarding the threat came shortly after 5:30 a.m. this morning, and a campus shut down and evacuation was announced at approximately 7:00 a.m.

While no details of the ongoing investigation can be offered at this time, the FBI is announcing that the number 1-800-CALL FBI has been established for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the threat.

“Standing shoulder to shoulder with our law enforcement partners and both federal and state prosecutors, bomb threats and hoaxes are acts of terror that are and will be investigated with the full weight of federal, state and local resources,” said Michael J. Anderson, Special Agent in Charge, FBI New Orleans. “Any tips we can receive are vital to resolving this and other such cases.”

While no additional specific threat information exists at this time, the FBI’s JTTF and all partner agencies remain committed to updating the public should any further threat to public safety arise.
