It was the surprise of a lifetime for a single mother of four who was surprised this morning with a new home.
This time last year, Paige Broussard was homeless, but today, she and her family settled into their full furnished home.
The new home also came with a $5,000 down payment check and it was all made possible with the help of habitat for humanity and former NFL player Warrick Dunn’s charity.
The recipient, Page Broussard, says home ownership has always been a dream.
“It’s fine. They’re happy with mom regardless of the situation. But, I needed to do better for them and this is it. You can’t get any better than this.”
Dunn, a Baton Rouge native, has been involved with habitat for humanity for 17 years, and says there’s many more projects in the works for Lafayette families.
