Last week’s orientation at UL Lafayette was interrupted by a bomb threat which turned out to be a hoax. But this week, orientation picked up where they left off. Between yesterday and today, orientation welcomed roughly 400 students and 150 parents of students. Despite last week’s bomb hoax parents say they still feel the university is in safe hands and the situation was handled properly.

One orientation leader says any anxiety over the bomb threat has lifted thanks to everyone’s positivity.

“Last week was an obstacle, but we made it. Even with what happened, we pulled through and everyone’s keeping positive energy” said Orientation Leader Taylor Campbell.

Many of the students that attended last week’s orientation session that was interrupted by the bomb threat hoax were in attendance at this week’s session. Classes at UL Lafayette will begin on August 25th.
