Officials with the Federal Communications Commissioner visited the studio of radio station KOCZ 103.7 in Opelousas Tuesday. FCC officials are travelling the country supporting low power F.M. stations touting their value especially in matters of public safety like natural disasters. The visit was also an opportunity to see the good work small radio stations are doing.
FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel said “you get the sense of how much energy there is in this building and how much excitement there is to produce this content, make it local, and to have everyone share their own stories and their music on the air. I think it’s terrific”
Rosenworcel also visited with the publisher of the Daily Advertiser and the Daily World. Rosenworcel is one of five commissioners appointed by the President of the United States.
