Lafayette City Marshal Deputies arrested two (2) persons in the 100 block of South Hamner  Avenue in Lafayette before 8:00 o’clock AM today.

Arrested on a BENCH WARRANT with NO BOND on a theft by check charge was LLLIAN MOUTON and MARCUS WAYNE GUIDRY was arrested on a REGULAR WARRANT with a $750.00 bond set for SIMPLE BATTERY. MOUTON had failed to complete the payment of her
$180.00 fine or serve 18 days in the parish jail.

LILLIAN MOUTON’S photograph was shown on the Marshal’s “Holding Accountable” program on Acadiana Open Channel (AOC) Channel 15 last night and a tip was called in with information on LILLIAN MOUTON. Deputies followed up on the tip and after knocking on the door and
announcing their presence at the residence for at least 20 minutes, MARCUS WAYNE GUIDRY appeared at the front door. He stated to the deputies that LILLIAN MOUTON was present in the residence.

Deputies called in by radio to the marshal’s dispatcher and checked warrants on three other adults present in the residence and they were advised that MARCUS WAYNE GUIDRY had an outstanding warrant in Lafayette City Court for Simple Battery. The other two adults were cleared.

MOUTON and GUIDRY were taken into custody and Guidry was booked into the Lafayette Correctional Center in lieu of a $750.00 bond. Mouton was found to have a medical issue and was allowed the pay the remainder of her fine and a contempt charge. She had previously made restitution on the check and therefore was released from custody.
