Hundreds attend Whole Foods job fair

Wednesday around 500 people turned out trying to land a job with the new Whole Foods Market set to open in Lafayette in September.

The job fair was held today from nine to six at the Cecil J. Picard Center on Devalcourt Street. Whole foods is looking to hire around 150 team members for various position throughout the store. Whole foods located at Ambassador Caffery & Settler’s Trace is scheduled to open September 24th. Kristina Bradford with Whole Foods Louisiana Community Relations says it’s the high standards of whole foods that attract so many people to the stores.

“We have the highest standards in the industry on many levels starting with our quality standards. Foods that are free of artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, hydrogenated fats, really throughout the store. And in seafood, for instance, we have aqua-culture standards that took years to develop and really, it’s unprecedented in the industry.””
