Two men sentenced for Taco Bell murder

Travonte Broussard and Nicholas Felix have been sentenced to hard labor for the death of Frederick Joseph in July of 2012.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2014 Travonte Broussard entered a Manslaughter plea immediately prior to jury selection in connection with the death of Frederick Joseph, III. 

According to J. N. Prather, Jr., Assistant District Attorney, the charge stems from a shooting in the parking lot of a Taco Bell restaurant on Congress Street on July 1, 2012.

The co-defendant, 22 year old Nicholas Felix pled to the charge of Obstruction of Justice.

Broussard was sentenced to 15 years hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

Felix was sentenced to 10 years hard labor, suspended, 5 years active supervised probation.
